Blogpost #1:Rejection
There are so many people who have commited suicide, took drugs, and violence against someone on the street. Why is that so? there is one reason why, rejection. Did you know that rejection is one of the biggest problems that can affect our lives. It can be also part our depression because we feel like being the most bottom of the food chain. I managed to make dialogue of why people misbehaved because of rejection
Base on my experience on rejection like being ignored by your classmates, being cut on the basketball team in high school and didn't invite you to a party, I feel so down to myself because of what I experieced. I know that I'm not the only one who got rejected and I believe that everyone be also feel the same way I do. "True, rejection can sometimes be a clue that you behaved badly and should change your ways"
I read this article called "The Pain of Social Rejection" by Kirsten Weir. According to the author that "True, rejection can sometimes be a clue that you behaved badly and should change your ways" There is another way to overcome rejection. It also tells you the behavior of the person after being rejected and how to ove. As the author experimented two persons to play this online game called "cyberball" to anylize her experiment on their social intactions between them. It also tell you how to overcome rejection.
I read another article called "Rejection" by Robert Brooks,Ph.D. It tells about what he saw a woman approached to him and tells him about her son being rejected from the league. When he was bothered by that problem, he read a book called "Rejection" by John White. Accoring to Robert Brooks that
"What follows are some thoughts that might help confronted with rejection:
1) Avoid Self Defeat assumptions
2) Don't magnify the rejection in terms of the impact it has had or will have in your life
3)Don't allow a rejection to compromise or derail your dreams
4)Learn from your rejections"
It tells you that these steps are the ways that can relieve your emotional pain and tells you also that be more confident and never don't allow rejections will bring your life in the future and be optimistic that never allow anyone rejects you.
According to Kirsten Weir says that "As clever human beings are,we rely on social groups for survival," it explains that we depend on someone to make social interaction and it is part of our need just as food and water to survive us in life. On my opinion, yes it's part of our needs but the problem is how can we survive if we have no one to talk to or how can we survive in social interaction if someone ended the conversation like saying "okay" just to end the topic that you want to talk about. If you get rejected like being part of the "friend zone," being scolded by my parents,or got "seen by" on facebook chat, all I did was to be quiet and think about what did I do wrong to them because sometimes I wasn't really on right time to talk to them because they're busy or maybe I just made something wrong to them. For example, I want to talk to my mom about I got an "A" plus on the test and I'm approached to her but she told me that to talk with her later and I feel so bad by not approving to start a conversation with her. After I feel the pain of rejection, I managed to realize that the reason why my mom did that because she was too busy to talk someone on the phone while she was cooking something and I realized that I wasn't in a good time to make a conversation. Another problem is that when you think of yourself first that your going to be rejected by someone, people will think of you that you're going to be automatically get rejected because you're just hurting yourself and you have lack of confidence about yourself. All you have to do is to be optimisitc because people will think of you that you might have a chance to show to them that you don't allow anyone to reject you. Rejection is like a failure and mistake, it's either you learn from it or just give up. As for me, there are so many people who have been successful for life because I was inspired by Michael Jordan by saying that "I can accept failure but I can't accept not trying," by his experience, he has been rejected many times like being cut on basketball team in high school and he managed not to give up on his dreams. So if you get rejected, keep trying to grab the opportunitites and never forget to think positive.
